Digital Generation, Our Generation Conference, October 2021

Student delegates from Mulberry School for Girls and Ursuline High School presented a conference on the UNICEF International Day of the Girl Theme “Digital Generation, Our Generation”.

The conference was held online with delegates from schools in different parts of the UK, Malaysia, Singapore, Israel and Nepal.

Delegates had the opportunity to discuss the power and risks of technology for girls, especially social media. They examined themes such as digital activism, body image and online abuse. There were also discussions around actions students can take to improve society and the unseen bias women experience in their everyday lives. The conference ended with a film about Little Amal, a 12-foot puppet that is designed to make people think about the plight of refugees.
